Benefits for Members

As well as the usual benefits of being a member of the Friends of Palewell Common and Fields such as being involved in a Community of like minded people who are interested in the preservation and growth of our lovely green space, we have a few providers who have been generous enough to offer some discounts.  These are:-

Pistachios in the Park

Pistachios in the Park kindly offer the ‘Friends’ members 10% off hot drinks upon showing their membership card.

Kids Works

Kids Works have generously offered to new members a 10% discount when they sign up for a new term off that terms fees and for any existing ‘Friends’ members will also obtain discount when re-enrol for new term with the same 10% reduction.

As per Kids Works website intro:

We were the first independent company back in 1991 to offer a programme of fun, structured skills for pre-school (age 3+) and older children. Football for children was still being played on full size pitches back in those days, so we introduced to the 4-9 year olds, the mini-match set up which provided a means to have a greater ‘touch’ of the ball, and thus greater participation.

Kids Works was created by Lorraine and Melvin at a time when there was a shortage of challenging sporting activities for the enthusiastic younger child and very little consideration of the importance of activity, something which is now very much in the news!

We built on our wealth of knowledge, not only with regards to content, but in our ability to present this in a format suitable to both the younger, more sensitive and older, inquisitive child.

Our Soccer Programme

Kids Works ensures that the content and presentation of it are suited to the challenges of short attention span, insecurities and developing physical structure that a younger child presents. Sessions are relaxed and fun like, but always maintain a sense of purpose. In addition sessions are fully active to suit the children’s natural exuberance and love of movement and physical challenges
